Funeralis – Lvminis Serpens Caeremonia (2016)

Funeralis
Release date:May 6th, 2016
Label:Apocalyptic Productions
10/10

If you never heard of this band they play black metal and do it very well, and this album really is a gem when it comes down to this type of metal as there is so much going on throughout the whole thing, this isn’t your typical black metal this has a lot of thrash and death sounding parts in it as well.

I won’t get into every song because it’s just too hard to really describe these tracks you need to hear them for yourself and there is only one sung in english ( Altare Lvmine ) but it really doesn’t matter to be honest and out of all of them this has more of ritual feel to it than the rest.

To the reader, I say look around to hear more as I could only find the opener on their bandcamp,I seen some of the live footage and it really doesn’t do justice to the band at all, this album could’ve easily made my top list of last year.

Rotten Tomb – Promo (2016)

Rotten Tomb
Release date:October 1st, 2016
Label:Independent
8/10

Here is a new death metal band out of Iquique, this is their first effort,it’s a two track release.

This has a lot of potential as it has a very deep old school vibe to it,especially that old Swedish sound from back in the day,Possessed By Death is a slow kinda mid paced track with a lot of emotion to it and the guitar work on here really stands out with an very evil sounding lead that should impress any death head out there,Mortuary Desires,of the two this is the one that really showed where this band could go,very dark vibe in the beginning and then this evil yell comes out as the track takes off and it’s pure death metal just the way I like it,very catchy track no doubt to end this first effort.

I’ll just say this in closing, I would check this out if you like death metal from Chile because these guys bring it to the limit, they keep this up and they will be noticed, I guarantee it so I hope to hear more maybe later this year.

Blasfemia – Promo (2017)

My old friend behind this band has just released a promo track Journey to Personal Death which will be out in April/May of this year on the Colombian label Tribulacion Productions, hopefully he will open up and finally do an interview as I known him for years through the internet but he just isn’t into it.

Sounds promising from this.

Alienation – Promo (2017)

Alienation
Release date:January 2017
Label:Independent
10/10

So I wake up this new year and I came across this new death thrash band from Santiago and man what a way to start 2017 off this two song promo is why I made this site, two tracks that just blew me away on the first listen.

Modern Slavery is an instrumental with a deafening yell at the beginning that opens this up and right there you can here that these guys are influenced by the old guard just an excellent opener but Alienation is the track that will kill your ass this is filthy raw pure fucking shit that will have your head rolling and the vocals are excellent!as well, if you’re an extremist like me this will hit the spot, I guarantee it.

This is the flyer from their first show ever later this year and what a lineup to start things off on.

In closing I hope to hear more from these guys soon as this was just a tease but a excellent one to start their journey on.They have physical copies of this so I would contact them here ALIENATION.CHILE.THRASH@GMAIL.COM or their Facebook page.both tracks have been uploaded to hear enjoy!

Soulrot – Revelations (2016)

Soulrot
Release date:August 24th, 2016
Label:Independent
7/10

Soulrot are a three piece death metal band and this is their first EP which consist of five tracks two studio and three live plus two instrumentals.

The Statement of Randolph Carter is an instrumental that opens this up but it has nothing to do with death metal but that’s what it’s labeled but then it goes into Ectoplasmic Revelation which I will say this is pure death metal that has a great old school feeling as many greats from the past are oozing out all over it and the band adds keyboards that might turn some of you off but they don’t really drown out what is going on throughout the song so no worries at all and the vocals are straight out of hell as well.Evolutive Slaves,of the two studio tracks this one has more of an edge to it,more right in your face you could say and it just grabbed me quicker, good stuff.Psychophonic Symphony is another instrumental that closes the studio part of this EP.Bloodfed Deity… Blackstone, starts these live tracks and on here the band sounds totally different just as Horrors From Beyond does and the live version of Ectoplasmic Revelation are totally killer, this proves bands are better live than studio sometimes but not that they were any weaker or anything it’s just the feeling I guess,I will say these live recordings are kind of raw when it comes to the sound but they are still worthy of showing off what the band has to offer.

And this left me wondering and wanting to hear more as it’s very interesting on what they deliver to the genre,if you’re into old school death metal I would highly recommend this to you.
